'Fore' The Future
Golf and sustainability might not seem like an obvious pair, but there’s so much happening to make the game more eco-friendly. Every month, we’ll dive into some examples of how golf is embracing the environment and share how we’re applying those ideas to what we do at Stanners. It’s all about keeping the game we love sustainable—for the planet, the course, and future generations.
The 2025 River Scramble – Halifax River, Daytona Beach, FL
Scheduled for April 12, 2025, the River Scramble is an innovative golf tournament that replaces traditional golf carts with boats, emphasising an eco-friendly approach to the game. Participants navigate the scenic Halifax River, combining boating and golfing in a manner that highlights the importance of preserving aquatic ecosystems. This event not only offers a unique sporting experience but also raises funds for environmental preservation and community support initiatives. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local conservation projects aimed at protecting marine wildlife and reducing water pollution. Additionally, all tournament merchandise, from apparel to golf accessories, is sourced from sustainable brands that prioritise ethical manufacturing and recycled materials. At Stanners Golf, we admire the River Scramble's creative integration of sport and sustainability. Inspired by such initiatives, we ensure our apparel production minimises water usage and pollution, contributing to the protection of vital waterways. Our fabric selection includes recycled polyester and plant-derived sorona agile, helping to combat the very issues that events like the River Scramble seek to address.
